This was a development of 16 units for SHAL Housing Ltd. The development was a shared housing scheme on an exception site of mixed tenure ranging from one bedroom flats to 4 bedroom detached houses.
The scheme was developed utilising The Buildings for Life development criteria. The homes are built to comply with Level 3 for the Code for Sustainable Homes.
One of the key features of the site was an existing tree that provided the focus of the site and provides a communal green which is bordered by pathways.
Roads on the site are kept to an absolute minimum and parking is arranged in differing patterns in order not to create vast areas of hard landscaping.
